3 Expert Tips For Finding a Quality Herbal Colon Cleanse

by The Ultimate Cleanse Team on May 29, 2010

All right. So you’ve been thinking about doing an herbal colon cleanse and want to know how to pick one that is the real deal. I can understand that because I’ve been in your shoes. There are a lot of different products out there. The variety can be overwhelming. Because I really needed to make some changes, I spent a long time sorting through the various products and trying some of them. Through that experience I put together this little guide. I hope it will help you to find an herbal colon cleanse that works for you.

TIP ONE: Be really careful to know what ingredients are in a cleanse before you buy it. What I’ve discovered is that most inexpensive herbal cleanses include an herb called “senna.” That’s because it’s very potent and cheap. The problem is that “senna” can cause severe diarrhea in some people. In some cases senna has even proven to be life threatening due to massive dehydration. Another factor to consider is that some cleanse products contain fillers and chemically derived ingredients like magnesium stearate and titanium dioxide. Avoid these products. If you can’t pronounce it don’t buy it.

TIP TWO: Look for products that do more clean the colon. It’s true that the colon eliminates the most volume of waste from our bodies. But it’s not the only organ to focus on in a detox. Using the proper herbs, I’ve learned that it’s easy to detox the liver, the kidneys and the skin at the same time as cleansing the colon. This makes things a lot easier. That way you don’t have to complete a separate program for each system.

TIP THREE: Make sure the product comes with complete instructions for following a cleansing diet. I leaned this one the hard way. I once bought an herbal cleanse product and took it without being on a clean diet. Guess what happened? Major, major cramping. I changed my diet and the cramping left. So here’s what I’ve learned: you simply can’t expect to get any results from any herbal colon cleanse unless you make appropriate changes to your diet. In general it means leaving off eating meat, dairy and processed foods in favor of lots of fresh fruit and vegetables.

The reality is that cleansing has restored my health – I feel better than I have for years. But it’s taken some work to get here. If you’re going to invest the time in a cleanse, it should be a good one.
